Fiber Harnesses

Harnesses comprise one or more tails (or cables) of fiber optics which transmit the light from the light source over a distance. They are joined together in a connector (common end) and are normally separate at the other end. Harnesses may be terminated at the loose end depending on the type of fiber used.

Light Engine

We have LED engine and normal Metal halide lamp engine (150w and 250w). Now the LED engine is more popular, as it has many advantages, like smaller size, lower noisy, lower power rate but rather bright, longer life time. For LED engine, RGB mixed (16w, 16w dual heads, 45w) or color wheel type (10w, 2x10w dual heads, 36w, 50w, 100w, DMX) available for your choice.

The light source

The light source is where turning electricity into light which then fed into the fiber optic harness;

The fiber harness

The harness is the fiber part of a fiber optic lighting kit. It is made up of many strands of optical fiber which are usually wrapped in a flexible sheathing for protection;

The harness is used to transport the light from the light source to the end fittings. One end of the harness has a common end which is the connector used to plug into the light source. The other end is normally terminated with a number of end fittings;

No electricity runs through the harness making it 100% safe to route it through wet or humid areas. It is also safe to touch;

If the harness is to be routed underground or through concrete walls (like a pool wall) we recommend that conduit be used to protect it;

The end fittings

The end fitting is where the light be generated in the light source is output after traveling along the harness;

End fittings come in many shapes and sizes from tiny star ceiling fittings to large stainless steel pavers.
